Well, one annual event has come and gone. Back to School Night, where I had 1/3 of my parents show up, was this evening. I think that might actually be better than last year. I think we had a little better turn out because we had a guest rapper. Yes, you heard me (or read that) correctly. Today we had an assembly by Six8. He is a local guy with an amazing story, and he is positive and motivational for our kids. Why didn't we think of this before, I ask?! If the kids like rap, lets make positive rap for them to listen to. He sings songs about things like bullies, Abe Lincoln, reading, and my favorite of all..."Pull Your Pants Up". Did you ever know where that originated, and why?! Eww! I'm going to remind my boys of that all the time now. If you don't know, ask me. : )
One good thing about B2S Night is that parents get to hang out in our sauna (aka the building). Maybe some of them will get hot enough to call and complain to someone! Well, anyway, I'm going to sleep (in my AC!). More to come...
p.s. "Six8" is his height...he's a tall one!! (Abe was only 6'4"--it's in the rap)
